Talk to just about anyone living with cancer and they will tell you that in some small but unique ways, the diagnosis can be a gift. For me, it is the gift of time: time to decompress and flee the rat race, time to fight the war and win the first battle...time to redirect my life and explore the significant...time to rediscover passion smothered by a 60 hour work week.
Inspired by fellow photographers (with talent reaching FAR beyond mine) who have embarked on 1-photo-per-day "365 projects", I am dedicating myself to a year-long, abbreviated project to shoot AT LEAST one meaningful image every week for 52 weeks, documenting the journey through 2012. My goal with this project is to develop as a photographer, to grow with a camera in my hand, and to capture the detail, emotion...and the gift of life.
I am calling this adventure "FOLDER 52".
